imprinted sole
on the welcome mat
push over (shove off)
always there
with welcome arms (stay, won’t you?)
comforting words (but you can!)
mostly ignored
with thick bristles (better for taking a smear)
dirt surrounding the edges (to give the used look)
never a sound
for doormats can’t speak
anticipate the need (someone’s coming)
expect the use
fear the departure (they leave, again)
imprinted sole
imprinted soul

this was actually the first piece of poetry i was sort of pleased with...
any critiquing would be welcomed, as i am always trying to improve my writing. i think the poem pretty much speaks for itself. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
